I'm going hunting for a a slot

I confess, i want to take a trip to the northern part of the U.S.A. once i am on leave from the military, i want to go hunting with some experienced hunters to track and kill a kodiak (( if its legal))... if i am able to i want to go head to head with the bear with a spear or some kind of melee weapon ... i dont want to shoot the animal...but what i do want is to skin the bear ((also bear meat is delicious from what i heard)) and have a large coat made out of the bear hide and fur (( IF ITS LEGAL))
