If he shares said information he is in breach of HIPAA law and can then face civil or criminal charges from the state. Doctors are bound by law to not talk about their patients to anyone who doesn't need to know, and by that I mean other doctors they may need to consult and things of that nature. He will be risking his license, a fine, and being sued by you if he says anything to your dad, and I'm willing to bet that's more important to him than saying anything to your dad. If your still nervous about it you can go to a 24hr clinic and get checked there. One more note. If it happens he did give you something it is illegal for him to knowingly spread the disease without telling you he had it first. If you wanted to you could pursue that direction as well. I believe those laws are on the state level though so you may have to look it up for your state should you choose to go that route.
