I completely agree. Age is not a factor.

No, but the problem is that a lot of 15 year olds are not mentally strong enough to withstand manipulation. So to protect them a government has to draw a line somewhere.

I disagree with the last post. It wasn't long ago I was 15 and all the girls I knew were having sex. Its not that anyone manipulated them. They wanted too. And most would have had sex with an older guy if they had the chance. People just have it stuck in their heads that teenagers are stupid when it comes to sex.

They are. Which is evidenced by how you claim they were having sex at such a young age. The younger you are, the more likely you are to do some dumb shit that could potentially ruin your life.

Any stupid, avoidable thing you can thing of effects younger people more than adults. From contacting STDs, to inadvertent pregnancies to dying as a result of drunk driving. Your average 25 year old is hardly mature. How competent do you think someone 10 years younger would be?

It's not the moral or ethical implications, really.

It'd be the legal ones. And according to the legal ones, yeah, it's a crime.

Go figure.

It's a crime in certain parts of the world. Here in Germany, it's legal to fuck 14-year olds.

well, once the moms and dads find out their girl is a whore they go to the police and deny that their little slut got fucked willingly and make the guy go to jail for his undeserved buttsecks.

See, we don't consider girls whores here just because they have sex before the age of 18. It's considered the norm.

And don't make the mistake to think that the moral implications magically disappear only because it's OK by law. I think the law here in Germany is perfect. As someone has pointed out before, society has to draw a line somewhere. The 14-years line seems reasonable. Yes, I have met 13 year olds that would have been willing to fuck me. But 90% of under 14-year olds aren't ready to have sex imho. There are exceptions on both sides of the spectrum of course. If I met a 16-year old and felt that she wasn't ready for sex, it would be my moral obligation to say no, no matter what the law says
