Okay, so I'm watching this video on Motherless, it starts out as a cool lesbian oil video when suddenly all the girls grab candles and start pouring hot wax on this woman who's lying on the table. They pour some of it right on her CLIT and she thrashes around EXCITED about the whole thing.

Different sorts of wax have different melting points. The wax candles that are used in porn productions of that sort tend to have a significantly lower melting point (meaning the wax itself is a significantly lower temperature) than your standard 'home' candles. It's probably hot enough to feel hot, but not to actually burn -- combine that with your usual S&M enjoyment of mild pain, and you get hot wax = pleasure.
