So what do you think about this Pedophile's Guide case? I think it's pretty fucking horrifying that a man can be arrested for writing a book in this day and age in America. Now I'm sure there are plenty of pedos here (hi pedos) but this doesn't just apply to you. The scary part is he wasn't charged with "Being a Pedo 1st Degree" or "Willfully Advocating Kiddy Fiddling" or anything like that. He was charged with "Obscenity" (lawyer speak for offending someone*). And it gets worse, obscenity is judged by "community standards", but not your community, just any random community. So they set him up, some cowboy sheriff in backwater constitution-hatin' Florida specifically ordered a copy of the book, just so they could have a go at him.

Long story short, this could happen to you, as long as someone, somewhere in America finds your words offensive.

*Yes, yes, and it has to be related to sex or poo. And some other stuff that is 100% subjective, so essentially meaningless if the jury doesn't like you.

you have to remember true freedom does not exist, not in America anyway, there's few if any places in the world that give people true freedom of expression, what is and isn't acceptable is determined by a select few.

While people who abuse children should indeed be punished, talking about it (or anything else) should not be punishable.

If laws are to determine what can and cant be talked about how will anything ever change, it wont/isn't stopping here. Its one step closer to the thought police.

Yep - "the land of the free" is a mirage. The USA has only 5% of the world's population yet they have 25% of the world's non-political prisoners. They just LOVE locking people up over there. They're the most rabidly vengeful people on earth.

Although i believe this man is a sick fuck along with those who choose to buy mentioned book, I do think that this is bullshit. Unless admitting to child rape in the book they should not be allowed to arrest him, but should watch...possibly using the book as probable cause to check his computer also. Obscenity is a hard case to prosecute, yet he will probably take a plea since he cannot afford a capable lawyer....he'd end up in jail eventually.

While I may not agree with what he wrote, I think that he has the right to write down any thoughts or feelings he may have. I for have not read his book, but it does sound deplorable. But then again so is the Nazi "bible", yet its still sold in the USA. This country is no better than Hitler's Germany or any of the other fascist nations out there. So like usual the American people will just forget about this case, and they will quietly move this man into a low security prison were he will be beaten and killed by his fellow inmates. Such is life.
