ok so i installed tor today. its working well. the thing is i want to use tor to block my IP when i log onto chatrooms (or at least show a different IP). tor automatically blocks java, among other things, and the chatrooms i wanna hit all run on java, so......
can anyone walk me through reconfiguring my tor settings to allow java?
be patient with me i'm pretty stoned most of the time

if you enable java it "unmasks you"so thats why java is disabled on tor...just be happy wiff sum hard candy

It's always a trade-off between security and freedom. Java let's you do lot's of cool things (like watch the vids on Motherless) but it is a security risk. No way around this I know of. Tweak your settings according to the situation. Cookies, javascript, and so on. Also look into LSOs. I just found out about those and wiped a shit ton of "flash" cookies off my comp. I suggest the BetterPrivacy plugin for that.
If you're a pedo, I'd first say don't search for porn online at all because I doubt seeing a fetus in a bikini is worth jailtime, but you certainly don't want to turn javascript on if you're doing that (or anything else Big Brother might not like.)
And never download anything unless you trust the source. Ever. I'd suggest you just go somewhere else for chat and keep your peace of mind. And since you're a stoner, you might want to leave your security settings on high alert by default so you don't "space" and forget to turn them on before doing something stupid.
