my opinion that could piss a lot of people off, and its not a pervy topic, all religion is false, you base your faiths on books and writing, no actual fact, if you think a bearded hippy from the middle east could walk on water then since you take that information from a book, you should be forced to admit that there really is a school called hogwarts. you cant say one exists and the other doesnt

my question was really just to see if moses was a real person or not. not the parting of the sea or walking the desert. or other fantastical stories. I was just wondering is all...

I understood that, it's just that some people will use any excuse to try and bash something they can't understand.

I have to disagree with your premise in one respect, religion is not false. By definition religion is the belief in something, therefore if someone truly believes the religion is true. Perhaps what they believe in is false, but not the religion itself.

That's why it's called faith, not science. Your facts won't disprove basic religious beliefs because they are taken on faith. Facts and faith are only loosely related, and people in both camps tend to make asses of themselves. For example, for every head-up-his-ass creationist twisting science to match his religious beliefs, there is a head-up-his-ass scientist wannabe who thinks science proves there is no God, Allah, Vishnu or whatever. On the other hand, I've already explained about Wally Moses, but if you won't listen to reason, well...

If you study religions as I have, you will discover that every reigion takes a story from a previous religion and twists it around to suite their perspective. Example,In the greek culture, the people of the peleponese area took in the Hittite Titans into their own religion. The story of Sampson was taken from the Greeks. This is just blending of people and their faiths. Religion can be seen as a supernatural way to explain the physical world, because science was in its prehistoric phase back then. Science will one day discover the sources of the religious storys and cast light on it all.
