Land of the free and home of the brave, indeed � but if Rick Santorum has his way, America will soon have another assertion to stand by. The GOP hopeful is running for p******** and, if he wins, he�s pursuing an end to pornography in the US.

If Rick Santorum wins the race to the White House, the senator from Pennsylvania will inherit, among other things, a nasty operation in Afghanistan. Santorum is capable of starting battles on his own, though, and his first order of business might be another war. It won't be in Iran, however, as Santorum is instead eying up the possibility of a war here at home. Republican Party p********ial hopeful Rick Santorum let his supporters know that he is indeed the true conservative option, not even taking into account just his political positions. To curb these societal scars, of course, the answer is obvious. Pornography must be abolished and Rick Santorum is the man for the job.

I've been inundated with fake requests via my Ashley Madison profile, where the woman (one assumes) makes her Gmail address part of her user name so schlemiels like me won't use up valuable A/M credits and instead email them directly. This scenario usually gets them banned by the A/M mods in pretty quick fashion, but by then you have their "direct" contact details in your inbox, so it's no loss to them.

The scam starts out by them pretending they're local women looking to hook up, although they usually won't mention anything overtly sexual in their fairly brief emails. After a few back-and-forth messages that suggest they want to meet for coffee or whatever, making sure to send you some sexy (but clothed) photos to keep your interest up, the trap is sprung. You're told they're a part-time cam model and you're invited to visit their site to "vote" for them, with the idea that the more suckers (err, voters) who do, they'll win some sort of cash prize and then reward you for your participation by going on a date with you.

The smell of the scam is strong, but I love to play their game the same way I used to string along those Nigerian scammers who were so ubiquitous back in the late 1990s. The woman will direct you to a website that has a bunch of her pictures on it; it also includes a place where you need to enter your credit card info so as to "vote." One of the emails you receive includes a Special Code that allegedly allows you free access, but you're still required to put in your CC details alongside it. "Nothing will be billed to your card," you're told by the erstwhile beauty.

Naturally the purpose of the scam is to capture your credit card info. The first red flag is the fact the website is "http" and not "https." So what I do is enter a bunch of plausible but fake information -- they want your CC number, name on the card, billing zip code, three-digit security code from the back of the card, and an email address. I like to use "[email protected]."

So that's what's going on these days. And since "she" figured to have a live one on the hook, the least I could do is help proliferate her photos. BTW, she goes by the first name of Ruzzel (weird, huh) and claims to be Filipina. I'd also post her alleged surname, but I don't want to incur the wrath of ML admins.
